Harris Returns to Work as a Consultant for Bucks

Share

Del Harris found a job Tuesday--at least a part-time one.

The former Laker coach, as part of what looks like a Milwaukee coaching reunion, will be a playoff consultant to Buck Coach George Karl.

Karl recruited Harris, University of Utah Coach Rick Majerus and former Marquette assistant Gerald Oliver to help during the playoffs.

Harris was the Bucks’ coach for four years, from 1987-88 until he was fired 17 games into the 1991-92 season. Majerus was an assistant and head coach at Marquette and spent a season as an assistant with the Bucks.

With the Bucks, Harris will be involved at practice and coaches’ meetings as well as games. Karl and Harris have known each other since Karl played in the ABA and Harris was an assistant coach with the Utah Stars.

“George is an open guy, certainly not threatened, someone who likes input,” Harris said. “He just wants another pair of eyes to see things . . . another outlook.”
