The City Council tonight is expected to approve a plan to restrict left and right turns from Kennymead Street onto Santiago Canyon Road. Residents say there is limited visibility at the intersection for drivers exiting the street. After considering public input, members of the City Traffic Commission concluded last month that restricting turns from Kennymead would cause the least inconvenience to residents; other alternatives considered included allowing only right turns onto Kennymead Street. The restrictions also would not affect response by emergency personnel, traffic officials said.

If the measure is approved, the city will spend $25,000 to construct turn diverters at Santiago Canyon Road. The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. and resumes at 7 p.m. after a closed session. The council meets in chambers, 300 E. Chapman Ave.
