NEWPORT BEACH
A special assembly to discuss the dangers of ocean swimming and surfing will be held at 1 p.m. June 1 in the multipurpose room at Newport Heights Elementary School. A lifeguard and a swimmer who sustained a serious head injury will talk to students and share important safety tips. A video on ocean safety also will be shown, and book covers and stickers promoting safe swimming and surfing techniques will be offered.
