THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

Share

The Times Orange County publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

ANAHEIM

* South Westchester Drive: An Anaheim man was shot twice in the back early Wednesday after he was accosted by six juveniles while walking to his apartment after work, police said. One suspect was arrested. Officers were called to the 140 block at 1:31 a.m. where they found the victim bleeding in the street; he told officers he had parked his car in the area and was walking home when six males approached him and a fight ensued. He attempted to defend himself with a razor blade and was able to slash one of the suspects in the thigh, Sgt. Joe Vargas said. But the victim was shot in the back as he attempted to flee the suspects and remains in serious condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange. Police said the suspect with the razor wound attempted to seek treatment at a local hospital, but when his story didn’t pan out, officers arrested him.
