Man Sues Woman, Claiming $120,000 of Unrequited Love
A man is suing an Orange County woman for allegedly not following through on her promise to marry him for $120,000.
According to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in Superior Court, Robert Masters alleges that Thema Fuller had no intention of being his bride when he gave her two checks totaling $120,000 on or about May 3.
Accusing her of despicable behavior, deception, fraud and conspiracy, Masters wants the money back, plus interest at an annual rate of 10%. He is also seeking punitive damages and attorney fees.
The lawsuit alleges that Fuller refuses to return the money. Fuller’s conduct is “criminal and done with the intention on the part of Fuller of stealing the money . . . and done maliciously and oppressively in conscious disregard of plaintiff’s rights,” the lawsuit states.
Masters’ Newport Beach attorney, Jorn S. Rossi, would not comment on the case. Fuller was not available for comment. She is also known as Thema Johannsen, according to the lawsuit.
