In the NCAA Division III softball championships:
Panthers rained out--The first-round game featuring Chapman and Ithaca, N.Y., was postponed because of rain. The teams play today at 1 p.m. in Eau Claire, Wis.
In the Big West Conference men’s track and field championships:
Kelly wins--Long Beach State’s Darby Kelly won the 100 in 11.18 seconds and the 400 in 51.47 en route to winning the decathlon with 7,106 points. Cal State Fullerton’s Steve Reh finished 12th with 5,533 and teammate Taylor Wheeldin took 13th with 5,256.
In the Big West Conference women’s track and field championships:
Reneau wins--Marion Reneau of Long Beach State won the 200 in 24.98 seconds and finished with 5,375 points to win the decathlon.
