Leave Babs Alone

Enough already! Both Diane Farrell (Letters, May 9) and Sheila M. Bundley (Letters, May 16) seem to be agitated by the recent Streisand concert news to an extent completely out of proportion, and their attacks on the entertainer’s ethics are nothing less than cruel.

Ms. Streisand is one of the all-time greats in the entertainment industry. As someone who was lucky enough to see her in concert in 1994, am I disappointed that I will not be able to pay the high costs to see this “one and only” New Year’s show? Absolutely! However, I realize the uniqueness of the evening and the capacity of the venue also dictate the high prices. Ms. Streisand has delighted millions over the last 30 years with her many contributions to the arts, and has contributed both financially and personally to many charitable causes. The extreme comments submitted by Ms. Farrell and Ms. Bundley are nothing short of “Barbra bashing.”
