The City Council will address residents’ concern over the safety of the ducks at Village Pond Park at tonight’s council meeting.

The park on Ridge Route Drive between Muirlands Boulevard and Elrond Lane is a quiet home to ducks and geese. Last month, residents submitted a second petition to ban fishing at the pond. Residents say people and animals get tangled in the discarded hooks and fishing line.

The city has received letters from residents living close to the park expressing concerns over the removal and dropping off of ducks at the park as well as the safety of the ducks.
