Residents are invited to bring their tree stumps, old mattresses, used motor oil in disposable containers, scrap metal and other oddball items to the second annual Fall Cleanup, sponsored by the Public Works Department on Nov. 13.
Dumpsters and dump trucks will be stationed at the southwest parking lot of Sears in the Buena Park Mall, La Palma and Stanton avenues, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents must bring proof of Buena Park residency.
Hazardous materials such as paint and chemicals cannot be dropped off at the site. Items such as dirt, concrete, rocks and bricks also are not allowed. Officials say the purpose of the cleanup is for residents to drop off items the garbage collector usually does not collect.
