A 30-year-old Fillmore man was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats to kill three of his supervisors at work, authorities said Wednesday.

David Carranza, who was on probation for theft, was taken into custody about 3:30 p.m Wednesday after his alleged threats were overheard by some of his fellow employees at a Moorpark company that makes aircraft sensors.

“Carranza said his shooting was going to be like the shooting that had occurred in Hawaii,” said Sheriff’s Det. Anthony Aguirre.

A photocopier repairman in Honolulu killed seven of his co-workers Tuesday before surrendering to police.

According to Aguirre, Carranza said he would carry out the shooting at Kavlico Corp., where he has worked for more than a year, authorities said. Carranza named three supervisors as targets, authorities said.

Carranza, who authorities said has an extensive criminal record, remained in jail Wednesday in lieu of $30,000 bail.
