Garden Grove and Pacifica to Start Earlier The starting time of the football game between Garden Grove and Pacifica at Garden Grove High

on Friday has been changed to 6 p.m. to alleviate an anticipated parking conflict with the Orange County Symphony, Garden Grove athletic secretary Katherine Myers said.

The game, originally scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will decide the Garden Grove League title.

EQUESTRIAN

The Interscholastic Equestrian League competition continues from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Founded in 1993, the league provides horseback riding competition on four levels--varsity, junior varsity, freshman and novice--for more than 120 students representing more than 40 public and private high schools.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

John Wooden will appear at a Newport Beach dinner Nov. 26 to raise money for Special Olympics.

The dinner precedes the Wooden Classic, a college basketball doubleheader Nov. 27 at the Arrowhead Pond. Wooden, the legendary UCLA coach, will join the coaches of the four participating schools--Mike Krzyzewski of Duke, Mike Montgomery of Stanford, Cliff Ellis of Auburn and Henry Bibby of USC--at the fund-raising event.
