The City Council on Tuesday approved in concept plans for a new Calvary Chapel church at Knott Street and Acacia Avenue, but sent the project back to the Planning Commission for zoning reconsideration. The church currently operates out of a meeting center in Westminster but plans to remodel an existing 44,301-square-foot building to accommodate a 515-seat sanctuary, classrooms, offices, bookstore-cafe and fellowship hall. The site is within the city’s Central Industrial District and would require General Plan and zoning changes to accommodate the church. Information: (714) 741-5000.
