The Worm’s in Deep Mud Now

Share

Poor Dennis Rodman. The man is already being sued by a cocktail waitress for allegedly assaulting her; he and actress Carmen Electra were recently arrested in Miami Beach after police broke up their domestic brawl . . . and now this.

Dissed on the Web.

The Worm’s Web site (https://lonestar.texas.net/~pmagal/) has been nominated for a Mud Brick Award, bestowed upon the world’s most heinous-looking Web sites.

Rodman’s black-and-blue site has a news section that reads: “Sorry I haven’t updated this in a while. It’s going to be kept up from now on.”

But do take a gander at the hair gallery, which documents the ever-changing shades of Rodman’s moody head.

The annual awards are sponsored by Spinfrenzy.com, a teen-oriented Web portal based in Mountainview, Calif., and are meant as a humorous counterpoint to the more well-known Webbies.

“The Webby Awards are like a beauty pageant where the most beautiful Web site wins the crown,” said Spinfrenzy.com CEO Manish Vij. “The Muddies, on the other hand, expose Web sites that are crying out for plastic surgery or at least a major make-over.”

To make your own Mud Brick nomination, see https://www.spinfrenzy.com. Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 1; awards will be announced in March.

Personally, we are rooting for Alyssa Milano’s site (https://www.alyssa.com). We can’t decide what’s cheesier about this cyber destination--the floating winged fairies or the dancing mini Milano.

Chaya Brasserie, one of L.A.’s hipper hangouts, has hired set and costume designer Tim Chappel (“Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”) to transform the interior into a “Moulin Rouge” milieu for New Year’s Eve. Instead of a sit-down dinner, Chaya will offer revelers --who will pay $199.90 each--food stations and shot bars.

Movieline’s November issue features the second annual “Hollywood 100 Most,” a list full of hilarious surprises. A few of our faves: most likely to be the real reason for lower SAT scores, Adam Sandler; most in need of having her yoga mat confiscated, Madonna; most disastrous haircut, Keri Russell.

John F. Kennedy’s first sailboat, “Flash II,” is up for sale at the eBay Web site for $200,000. JFK owned the boat from 1934 to 1942, when he spent his summers sailing.

Although the current owner admits the boat doesn’t feature any personal touches from the late president, he claims he has felt JFK’s spirit while working on the craft.

“While fixing up the boat at 6 a.m. on a cold morning in a 100-year-old boat yard,” Ole Anderson of Delray Beach, Fla., told us the other day, “I felt the hair stick up on the back of my neck. All of a sudden I was filled with thoughts about the young John F. Kennedy. This was his most prized possession from his childhood.”

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) has been named one of “America’s 100 Most Important Women” in this month’s Ladies’ Home Journal. ABC’s Peter Jennings says the magazine once described Waters as “a woman who simply will not go unheard.” Maybe someday, he’ll say that about us.
