SANTA ANA
The City Council on Monday approved new regulations to curb the number of check-cashing businesses in Santa Ana. New businesses will be subject to stricter reviews and cannot operate within 1,000 feet of another check-cashing business. City planners are currently reviewing about 15 applications for the businesses. The city typically receives a dozen applications each year.
