Hollow Hills Fundamental School invites parents and community members to a celebration of the National Blue Ribbon Award on Wednesday.
The outdoor ceremonies will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Simi Valley school at 828 Gibson Ave.
District officials will formally present and dedicate the National Blue Ribbon plaque and flag, which the school received last month at award ceremonies in Washington, D.C.
Simi Valley Unified Supt. Joyce Mahdesian, school board members, teachers, staff, students and parents will attend the festivities. The Royal High School marching band and dance guard will perform.
One of education’s most competitive awards, the Blue Ribbon recognizes schools that foster high academic achievement, involve parents, promote technology and help struggling students.
Westlake Hills Elementary School in Thousand Oaks was also recognized with the Blue Ribbon Award.
