Schools Supt. Jan Billings showed off a $117,340 check received from Coca-Cola Co. for the Anaheim Prep Sports and Activities Foundation Thursday night.

The Anaheim Union High School District signed an exclusive contract with Coca-Cola a few months ago, giving Coca-Cola exclusive vending machine rights to all high school and junior high campuses. Under the contract, schools will receive 33% of all vending machine proceeds for sports and activities programs.

The foundation supports districtwide sports and activities programs. Administrators say its inception has most benefited programs at junior high schools, where previous funding shortages had cut back extracurricular activities.
