Applications are being accepted by the City Council to fill two regular positions and one alternate position on the Board of Adjustment/Design Review Board. Applications must be filed with the city clerk by 5 p.m. Dec. 15. The two-year term begins Feb. 1. Board members work about 10 hours a week and are compensated $120 per month. Responsibilities include almost weekly meetings to make decisions on variance requests from the zoning code, permit requests for coastal development and the review of building designs and plans. Desirable skills include an ability to understand architectural plans and knowledge about historical preservation, landscaping and real estate. Information: (949) 497-0705.
