YORBA LINDA

The flow from faucets, hoses and sprinklers will cost a little bit more next year because the water district’s board of directors voted unanimously last week to raise rates. The Yorba Linda Water District’s monthly service charge was raised from $4.90 to $5.20; the water rate was increased 5 cents, to $1.03 per 100 cubic feet. The typical residential customer uses 1,700 cubic feet every month, meaning a monthly increase of about $1.10 to homeowners, according to water district figures. The new fees will be effective Jan. 1. The water district’s board has not raised the rates since 1994, board President Arthur Korn said.
