When El Modena (0-4) got the ball back they seemed to have something going as they drove from their 25 to the El Dorado 30. However, El Dorado’s Matt McConnell intercepted a pass from El Modena quarterback Kevin Brown at the Vanguard 25-yard line and ran 75 yards for a touchdown.

The Golden Hawks scored again in the second quarter on a 32-yard run by Zehner two plays after he had run 45 yards to the Vanguard 20.

El Dorado capped their scoring early in the third quarter when Brandon Vickers hauled in a 22 yard pass from quarterback Brian Zurhellen.

El Modena got its only points on a safety in the first half when Behrod Ganjifard tackled El Dorado punter Bryce Nebeker in the end zone after Nebeker fell on a errant snap from his center.
