COSTA MESA
Work is progressing on the bridge that will link South Coast Plaza and the new Crate & Barrel wing. This weekend, about 80 trucks poured concrete continuously for 12 hours for the Bridge of Gardens.
The 2,500-ton bridge, designed by landscape artist Kathryn Gustafson, will cross Bear Street and is expected to be finished by early next year. The bridge will feature a metallic bird-like design with seating areas for pedestrians.
