Jason Marshall #23

Age: 28 Defenseman Shoots: Right

Has been a mainstay on defense. Rugged player who is not afraid to mix it up and did so often last season. All-around skills have improved steadily. May have the hardest checks among the team’s defensemen. Ended a 70-game goal-less streak against the Kings, then scored again in Game 3 of the playoffs.

Jim McKenzie #33

Has been to the playoffs each of last six seasons and was big reason Ducks made it. Part of the Get Tough moves of last season, which paid off. Riding a Harley Davidson in the off-season doesn’t hurt the image. Even slapped around Dallas goalie Ed Belfour in one game. Also one of the team’s more quotable players.

Can usually be found in the corner, annoying opposing players. Feisty and quick, with no fear. His checks often echo in the arena. No slouch with the puck, either. Scored two goals, including game-winner, against Nashville on March 5. Besides hockey, was on the golf team at Minnesota.
