Reporting With Political Purposes
* The death of a mother on Broadway in Santa Ana on Monday is tragic (“Santa Ana Pedestrian Killed,” Oct. 5).
But The Times clearly has an ax to grind and is crassly using this woman’s death for political purposes.
If the reporting of this accident was professional, somewhere in the long story there should have been a clear statement as to whether Angelica Saravia was crossing Broadway at a proper crossing point or was jaywalking, perhaps without looking for moving vehicles before crossing the street at 4:45 a.m.
An impartial reader might consider this germane to the story.
