Mixed Reviews for Times’ New Look

* We simply can’t let this happen without expressing our deepest regret for your weather editor succumbing to a “cutesy” cartoon pictorial of what used to be a reasonably professional weather page for all levels of readers.
Where did the satellite picture go? Where did the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to the Aleutians go? This is where our West Coast weather begins. Your present colorful map has clipped off all of the important area of the central and eastern Pacific where subtropical and maritime polar systems originate.
Please consider replacing the satellite picture and showing much more of the Pacific from Hawaii to Alaska and British Columbia. Most of your readers would rather see what’s coming rather than the remains of a system that is leaving the East Coast.

* Yes, your new weather page does look much more inviting than the solid gray page that preceded it. However, I was disappointed to find that it now omits the table that gave us detailed air quality information.
I have used this information daily in my elementary school classroom for the past nine years.
The information helps the students develop the concept of a line graph, promote awareness of the environment and emphasize the need to make responsible decisions about their daily physical activities.

* Absolutely love the new Orange County Supersection!
