A party in Garden Grove erupted into what police believe was gang-related violence Saturday night, sending seven people to local hospitals.

Four people were shot and three were treated for other fight-related injuries stemming from a disturbance in the 11500 block of College Street, Police Sgt. Doug Morrill said. None of the injuries was life-threatening, he said.

Neighbors called 911 to report a party that was getting out of control at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, he said. While police were on their way, they received an additional report of shots fired there.

When police arrived, they found three injured people in the street in front of the house, Morrill said. Four other people had already been taken by others to local hospitals.

Morrill said three of the injured were treated at UCI Medical Center in Orange. One man who was shot in the back, another was shot in the chest, and a woman was shot in the leg. At Garden Grove Medical Center, a man was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. Two other men and a woman were treated for other injuries, Morrill said.

Police have made no arrests and do not know how many shooters there were or have any information about possible suspects, Morrill said. “We are treating this as a gang-related incident, but the origin of the conflict we don’t know,” he said.
