Domestic Violence Topic of Town Hall Meeting
Assemblywoman Gloria Romero (D-Los Angeles) will hold a town hall meeting tonight at East Los Angeles City College to talk about recent gun control legislation and domestic violence resources.
The meeting comes two weeks after a 24-year-old woman and her toddler were gunned down in front of her City Terrace house by her ex-boyfriend. He then killed himself.
Social service agencies, shelters and counseling programs will provide information about their services at the meeting. In addition, Atty. Gen. Bill Lockyer, Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti and Sheriff Lee Baca will speak. Residents are invited to share constituent concerns and discuss public safety issues.
The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at 1301 E. Cesar Chavez Avenue, Monterey Park.
