In eight-man football:

Avalon 53, Southern California Christian 32--Brian Cochrane rushed 23 times for 268 yards and scored a school-record five touchdowns as the Flames fell in their first game since dropping down from 11-man football.

Though playing with a broken thumb, Southern California Christian defensive end Eric Roberts had four unassisted tackles. Roberts broke his left arm in the fourth quarter, but finished the game anyway.

The Flames’ Ryan Seeds left the game at the start of the second half with a concussion.

In the Express League:

Redlands Calvary Chapel 56, Liberty Christian 24--Aaron Mendoza caught a touchdown pass for the sixth consecutive game, but it wasn’t enough for visiting Liberty Christian.

Liberty Christian (3-3, 1-2) was led by Nick Wells, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff for another score and had 15 tackles on defense.
