1 Killed, 1 Injured in Freeway Crash

A 19-year-old Camarillo man was killed Sunday morning when the truck he was riding in rolled over on the northbound Ventura Freeway.
Joel Massey was pronounced dead at Los Robles Regional Medical Center after the 1995 Chevrolet pickup crashed at the Lynn Road offramp about 6:45 a.m., crushing the passenger side of the vehicle.
The driver, John Medina, also 19, of Camarillo sustained minor injuries, said California Highway Patrol officers.
The vehicle hit a sign before it rolled 1 1/2 times and settled on its roof in a bushy area east of the road, police said. Medina may have fallen asleep at the wheel, they said.
Both men, students at UC Santa Barbara, were wearing seat belts, officers said.
