HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Pennies for Prevention Campaign will accept donations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Bank of America parking lot, Five Points Shopping Center, 18691 Main St. The campaign helps fund substance abuse prevention education programs at local schools. Bank money bags will be available at the drop-off site, and the money will be weighed and recorded.
The weight indicated will determine the amount of money that each school will earn toward substance abuse prevention. Regardless of the makeup of coins, schools earn $1 per pound.
