UCLA (3-5, 1-4) vs. Arizona (5-3, 2-2)
* Kickoff: 7 p.m. Saturday, Rose Bowl, Fox Sports West 2.
* Story line: A year after meeting in a critical Pac-10 showdown in Tucson with a top-10 ranking at stake, the teams come to the Rose Bowl trying to generate success at the end of disappointing seasons. Both are coming off losses, UCLA to Oregon State and Arizona to Oregon.
* UCLA update: Stopping Oregon on the one-yard line as time expired Oct. 9 at the Rose Bowl might turn out to be the Bruins’ highlight of the season. If not for that, they would have a five-game losing streak with two games coming up against teams with winning records.
* Arizona update: The Wildcats appeared to be bouncing back from a 2-2 start that included getting hammered by Penn State and Stanford and struggling past Texas Christian. Then they lost last week when a win would have put them in control of their own destiny to finish second in the conference at worst.
* Edge to Arizona: But can the Bruins reach double figures in scoring for the first time since the Oregon game?
* Line: Arizona by 3 1/2.
