A prefabricated house fell off a trailer Friday morning as it was being transported along the transition road from the southbound Golden State Freeway to the eastbound Foothill Freeway, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

California Highway Patrol officers shut down the thoroughfare at 9:30 a.m. to allow crews to remove debris, Officer Frank Sansone said. The road was reopened an hour later.

Although it was unclear whether strong winds contributed to the accident, CHP officials issued a wind advisory for high-profile vehicles traveling in the Newhall/Acton area. The advisory was issued at 9:51 a.m. and remained in effect late Friday.

Strong offshore winds were expected to fuel Santa Ana conditions across the Los Angeles basin throughout the weekend, forecasters said.

Sustained wind speeds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph were predicted today, said Guy Pearson, a forecast meteorologist with WeatherData Inc. Winds will start to die down this afternoon with normal conditions predicted to return by Sunday.

Weekend high temperatures across the region are expected to range from the mid-70s to low 90s.
