GOLDEN LEAGUE

Quartz Hill 49, Palmdale 28--Quarterback Jeff Williams and running back Joe Lopez led host Quartz Hill (3-5, 1-2) to its first league victory in three years.

Lopez rushed for 106 yards and four touchdowns in 20 carries. He had three scoring runs of one yard and another of four yards.

Williams rushed for 102 yards, including a touchdown of 44 yards. He also returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown.

Running back Anthony Diggs paced Palmdale (1-7, 0-3), rushing for 158 yards in 13 carries. His 42-yard scoring run in the third quarter pulled the Falcons to within 26-21.

Palmdale’s Terry Furlow completed 11 of 28 passes for 237 yards, with two interceptions. He had touchdown runs of 16 and seven yards.
