Two public safety officers from Cal State Fullerton will be promoted during a ceremony at 9 a.m. today in the CSF Public Safety Briefing Room.
Thomas H. Higgs of Placentia and Carl F. Jones of Corona are being promoted to sergeant after a competitive search from a pool of officers with three years’ minimum police experience.
Higgs has served as a CSF public safety officer for more than eight years. Before joining the university, he served 11 years in the Marine Corps. Jones comes to CSF after serving six years at Cal State Long Beach. Jones also served in the Marines, retiring as an operations chief after 20 years.
