VENTURA COUNTY ROUNDUP : MOORPARK : Officer’s Son Pleads Not Guilty in Slaying
A man who allegedly shot his brother-in-law during an argument about a video game pleaded not guilty to murder charges in Superior Court on Wednesday.
Paul Myers, 30, the son of a Los Angeles police sergeant, was arrested in mid-August on suspicion of killing Jason Weaver in the garage at the Myers’ Moorpark home.
Al Weaver, the father of the victim, was present at the arraignment.
“Obviously I think he’s guilty,” Weaver said. “He pushed the issue, he instigated it, and then he shot my son. That’s murder.”
