*** Various artists, “Stigmata” soundtrack, Virgin. This seamless collection of seven moody pop tunes--including a fresh bit of hard-driving whimsy from David Bowie--and 40-plus minutes of atmospheric orchestral score suggests an otherworldly journey of unsettling discoveries and momentary respites. Composed by the Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and veteran musician Mike Garson (a frequent Bowie collaborator), the score’s spectral romanticism is echoed by the duo’s song “Identify,” sung airily, if emptily, by Natalie Imbruglia.
