CALIFORNIA : PEOPLE IN BUSINESS : Ingram Micro Names Grambo President of U.S. Regional Unit

* Robert D. Grambo has been named president of Ingram Micro Inc.’s U.S. unit, the Santa Ana company’s largest regional operation.

Grambo joined Ingram Micro in 1987 and held key executive positions in purchasing, product marketing and sales for the U.S. region, which grew in revenue from $4.1 billion to $11.5 billion between 1994 and 1997.

Most recently, he has been executive vice president of parent company Ingram Micro, the world’s largest distributor of technology products and services.

The company also announced that Philip D. Ellett, executive vice president, Ingram Micro and president, Ingram Micro Americas, has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Concurrent with Ellett’s resignation, Ingram Micro’s five regional presidents will report directly to the office of the chairman.

* Robert K. Riley has been named president and chief executive of Life Financial Corp., a Riverside-based lender and parent of 11-branch Life Bank. Riley most recently was president and chief executive of Rainier Capital Corp. in Bellevue, Wash.

* Torrance-based Imperial Credit Industries Inc. said Stephen Shugerman, a company co-founder, vice chairman and director of subsidiary Southern Pacific Bank, has resigned.

* Palisades Media Group, a Santa Monica-based media buying advertising agency that specializes in the entertainment industry, has named Diane Parro and Andrew Lein vice presidents of account services. Parro previously was vice president of client services at Focus.

* The Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Madeline J. Kruzel associate vice president of client services and said she will work with planners who organize events in Los Angeles. Previously, Kruzel was director, convention and event sales of Universal Studios Hollywood.
