COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Volleyball Team in Finals
UC Irvine won two games to advance to the championship finals of the UC Irvine Third Degree Invitational women’s volleyball tournament Friday.
Brooke Witt had nine kills against Towson (Md.) in the Anteaters’ 15-2, 15-10, 15-7 semifinal victory. UCI plays Idaho State for the championship at 7 tonight.
Witt had 14 kills in Irvine’s three-game sweep against Manhattan in the first round.
In the Four Points Titan Classic:
Fullerton advances--Be Holcombe and Jamie Ivers had 16 kills each to help the Cal State Fullerton women’s volleyball team to a 15-11, 15-8, 15-3 victory over Southeastern Louisiana at Fullerton.
The Titans play Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. today.
In FILA Classic men’s soccer:
Cal State Fullerton 1, Syracuse 0 (OT)--Duncan Oughton scored in the 14th minute of overtime. The Titans play Denver at 7 p.m. Sunday.
