THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

BREA

* Brea Mall: A grand theft was reported in the 400 block at 4:10 p.m. Friday.

* East Birch Street: A petty theft was reported in the 400 block at 4:06 p.m. Friday.

COSTA MESA

* Bear Street: A construction worker was injured when he shot himself with a staple gun at the Crystal Court mall construction site on Wednesday at 10:47 a.m. in the 3200 block. The man apparently swiped his side with the gun and pulled the trigger sending a 1/2-inch staple into his side. He was in good condition at Coast Community Hospital.

DANA POINT

* Doheny Park Road: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 34000 block at 8:27 a.m. Tuesday.

* Blue Lantern: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 33000 block at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Gilbert Street at Katella Avenue: Police arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run when he hit a woman and slightly injured her and crashed into a business on Friday at 9 p.m. A witness followed the driver and reported the incident to police.

* Paloma Avenue at Newhope Street: During a routine traffic stop Sunday at 2 a.m., police arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of stealing a car.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Ellis Avenue: A man had his car washed at a carwash in the 10000 block and left without paying at 4:32 p.m. Sunday.

LAGUNA BEACH

* South Pacific Coast Highway: A Corona del Mar man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance in the 600 block at 3:24 a.m. Wednesday.

LAGUNA WOODS

* Moulton Parkway: Fire crews responded to a report that a golf cart was on fire near the 17th hole of a golf course on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the 24000 block. No one was injured and the fire was put out.

LAKE FOREST

* Devonshire Drive: A burglary was reported in the 23000 block at 12:38 p.m. Saturday.

* Lake Forest and Dimension drives: A reckless driver was reported at 8:51 p.m. Friday.

* El Toro and Bridger roads: A traffic collision was reported at 8:39 a.m. Friday.

MISSION VIEJO

* Crown Valley and Marguerite parkways: A reckless driver was reported at 9:55 p.m. Saturday.

* Aria Drive: A traffic collision was reported in the 25000 block at 2:48 p.m. Friday.

* Pacific Circle: A burglary was reported in the 25000 block at 8:29 p.m. Friday.

ORANGE

* Apple Tree Lane: A robbery alarm was reported in the 18000 block at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday.

PLACENTIA

* North Kraemer Boulevard: A burglary was reported in the 1400 block at 12:34 p.m. Sunday.

* Tanforan Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 100 block at 10:36 a.m. Sunday.

* Avenida Cabrillo: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 200 block at 4:29 a.m. Tuesday.

* West Avenida Palizada: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 200 block at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Calle San Juan: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 31000 block at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.

TUSTIN

* La Colina Drive: An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 1000 block at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday.

VILLA PARK

* Leatrice Drive: A robbery alarm was reported in the 9000 block at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday.

OTHER COMMUNITIES

FOOTHILL RANCH

* Montecilo: A burglary was reported in the 100 block at 9:46 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Wednesday: Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, La Habra, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Westminster and Yorba Linda.
