Resident and El Modena High School senior Wendy Hsu was honored this week in Washington, D.C., by the College Board AP program, the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts for her achievements on the Advanced Placement test in studio arts.
Hsu’s acrylic painting of a cubist-style still life was one of 12 works chosen from about 500,000 submitted works, said Donna Banning, Hsu’s art teacher at El Modena, who also was honored at the ceremonies.
