MOVIES

Schwarzenegger Previews Terminated: Previews of the new Arnold Schwarzenegger action-adventure movie, “End of Days,” were terminated at a San Fernando Valley theater Wednesday and Thursday because advance word hit the Internet and KTTV-TV. Those who showed up with passes were handed a flier saying the leaks amounted to “corruption” of the test screening process. Hosts on KTTV’s “Good Day L.A.” asked viewers to attend the screenings and telephone or fax in their reviews. The announcements defeated the filmmakers’ need for an unbiased reaction. Test audiences, usually recruited at shopping malls, aren’t told the name of the movie. “The films shown at test screenings are not ready for public presentation. They’re a tool that makes the product better. We think this is an unethical breach of a private process,” Universal spokeswoman Terry Curtin said. The movie is set for a Thanksgiving holiday weekend release.
