From Times Wire Reports

Rescue crews were gradually scaling back the search for survivors amid the mounds of crushed concrete and twisted metal from buildings that collapsed in Greece’s deadliest quake in more than 40 years. Despite working around the clock, emergency crews said they had found no more signs of life in the rubble, as the death toll from Tuesday’s 5.9 magnitude quake in Athens rose to 101. More than two dozen people were still missing, and at least 50,000 people were left homeless. Many of them have taken shelter in sprawling tent cities, and others have pitched tents near their ruined homes for fear of looters. About 8,000 police officers were patrolling the areas to prevent looting, officials said.
