Share

Nate Jack, 18, and other students at Woodbridge High School in Irvine were among those nationwide who participated in the “See You at the Flagpole” prayer moment Wednesday, held in memory of the fatal shooting of praying high school students in Paducah, Ky., in December 1997. “I just asked God to protect us, to help us. I asked God to lead and guide our teachers and also to pray for the students,” said Jeff Cranny, youth director at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irvine, who organized the gathering at Woodbridge. “It’s so amazing how violent kids are getting today.” Students at several other Orange County schools, including Los Alamitos High and Eastside Christian School in Fullerton, also participated.
