$50,000 Reward Offered in Slaying of Jurist, Wife

A total of $50,000 in reward money is being offered for information about the shotgun slayings of Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner George Taylor and his wife, Lynda.

The Taylors were gunned down in front of their Rancho Cucamonga home on the night of March 18.

The Los Angeles Superior Court’s Executive Committee announced Friday that it had established a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors previously offered its own $25,000 reward.

Taylor, 68, heard family law cases in Superior Court in Norwalk for 13 years.

Detectives investigating the killings for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have said they suspect the shootings may have been related to Taylor’s work as a family law judge.

Neighbors said that a white car, possibly a 1992 Honda CRX, sped from the scene after the killings. The driver was described as a white man, about 45 or older, with glasses and brown or gray hair.
