A man who died after he drove his pickup truck off the Foothill Freeway has been identified as a 33-year-old Arizona resident.
James Dale Frank of Yuma was transporting equipment to a construction site in Monterey, Coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said Saturday. Frank was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
A Dalmatian dog also was found dead in the wreckage, MacWillie said.
Frank was driving a Ford F-150 truck at a high rate of speed westbound on the Foothill Freeway east of the Golden State Freeway when it veered to the left at about 3:10 a.m. Friday, authorities said. It crashed into a 20-foot dumpster loaded with refuse on the center divider, MacWillie said.
