A Little League baseball division for physically and developmentally disabled children is accepting applications for the season beginning on Saturday. In the Santa Ana Northwest Little League’s Challenger division, a soft baseball is used and batted off a tee, each child gets to bat and run bases every inning, helmets are used at all times, and assistants are allowed on the field whenever needed. Home games are played Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at Alona Park. Children ages 5 to 18 from Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Tustin are eligible. Cost is $40 per child and covers uniforms, equipment, insurance, pictures and trophies. Information: (714) 542-0589.
