BREA
Assistant City Manager Tim O’Donnell will be appointed interim city manager today while the council looks for a permanent replacement for Frank Benest, whose last day on the job will be Wednesday.
Benest, Brea’s city manager for more than 10 years, is moving to Palo Alto to become that city’s top employee.
The City Council hopes to find Benest’s replacement by July 1, using a recruiting firm on a part-time basis. Although O’Donnell was appointed interim city manager in closed session March 21, today’s vote will make the decision official.
