Accused Teacher
* Re “Another Teacher Has Molestation Charges Dropped” (March 23): So charges have been dropped against Spurgeon Intermediate School computer teacher Juan Carlos Contreras.
Even the prosecutors conceded that it would be unjust, would do further harm to a victim of false accusation, to continue the investigation.
To those who might think where there’s smoke, there’s fire, consider that, according to prosecutors, evidently there wasn’t even any smoke. The man is now and always was innocent, not only in the eyes of the law but in fact.
In the interests of justice, not to mention basic fairness, we challenge [Supt.] Al Mijares and the Santa Ana Unified School District Board of Education to reinstate Contreras and compensate him for his salary lost since October.
By doing this they would take the moral high road and set an example of democratic fairness for the whole county.
