An Alternative
Re “Healthy Dose of Faith,” April 2.
While there is no doubt that the services of a chaplain can be invaluable to religious patients, there does exist an alternative for the atheist or agnostic. The Freethinkers of Ventura County offer an “atheist chaplain” for those who would like to discuss life’s issues or would just appreciate a caring, nonjudgmental person with whom to share thoughts at a time of medical crisis in their lives.
