After a short hiatus because of safety concerns, the Rosarito Ensenada Fun Bicycle Ride returns Saturday.

The 50-mile ride down the coast of Baja California is expected to draw 9,000 riders. It will be the 14th running of the spring version of the race. The fall event was canceled in September because organizers were concerned that the Mexican highway patrol wasn’t properly controlling automobile traffic on the course. The fall 2000 event is scheduled for Sept. 30.

Advance registration is available through today at a number of Southland bike shops, including Anaheim Schwinn Cyclery, (714) 535-3231, and Bicycles Etc. in Lake Forest, (949) 581-8900.
