In the Big West Conference:

Long Beach State 12, New Mexico State 2--Bobby Crosby hit two home runs and had four RBIs and Chuck Lopez had three hits--including a home run--three runs and three RBIs for the host 49ers (23-11, 11-4), who had 13 hits.

Jeremy Reed had two hits and two RBIs for Long Beach, which led, 8-1, after five innings.

Jason Berni (3-1) gave up five hits, two runs, one walk and struck out three in six innings to earn the win and Kasey Olenberger, Bob Cramer and Josh Alliston combined to give up one hit and no runs in the final three innings.

New Mexico State is 15-22, 0-12.

In the West Coast Conference:

Loyola Marymount 4, Pepperdine 3--Michael Schultz pitched a seven-hitter and struck out nine for the visiting Lions (23-13, 11-4).

The complete game by Schultz (5-4) was the third of the series for Loyola, which won the final two games of the three-game series.

First baseman Kris Zacuto had two RBIs, and center fielder Mike Hymes and second baseman Anthony Angel each had one.

Designated hitter Dane Ball went three for three, including a two-run homer in the seventh, and center fielder Danny Garcia had an RBI for Pepperdine (22-16, 11-3).
