REGIONAL PEOPLE

* Michael O. Johnson has been promoted to president of Walt Disney International in Burbank, Walt Disney Co. said. All regional managers will report to him. Johnson had served as president of Walt Disney in Asia since 1999.

* Don Stults has been promoted to chief operating officer at Iwerks Entertainment Inc. in Burbank. He will coordinate internal management for the company.

Iwerks provides film-based high-tech entertainment installations for theme parks and other venues.

* Merle Sharp has been hired as chief technical officer with VDI MultiMedia in Hollywood. He will oversee engineering and facility design for the company, beginning with a high-definition television department at VDI’s Burbank facility.

VDI MultiMedia provides video and film asset management services to the entertainment and advertising industries.

* Syed Husain has been named chief financial officer for Netsol International Inc. in Calabasas. He will be responsible for all aspects of financial management.

Netsol develops software for the information technology industry.

* Miles R. Stover has been appointed chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Matthews Studio Equipment Group in Burbank. Stover replaces Anil Sharma who will continue to serve as president and director.

The company supplies lighting, grip video and theatrical equipment to entertainment producers.
